Cornwall’s enduring quest for greater devolution

 

In the far South West of England is Cornwall. A county and a region that feels markedly different from the rest of our shores. 

Cornwall has its own language and distinct culture, but it is also a region of England with mounting problems: Social exclusion, deprivation and poor access to healthcare. At best, these issues have been unchecked, at worst, they have been ignored. 

This year’s local elections will see candidates from across the political spectrum in Cornwall seeking a greater say in how they are governed.
