Whistleblowers are being ‘let down’ by government inaction, says Malhotra

The Conservative MP Mary Robinson today initiated a Westminster Hall debate on Whistleblowing Awareness Week.

Speaking in the debate, Labour spokesperson Seema Malhotra said: “Whistleblowers are being let down by inaction. Whilst the 1998 Public Interest Disclosure Act, which was referred to during the course of the debate, was initially celebrated as groundbreaking. Now only 4% of people who bring claims under it succeed”.
