Priti Patel calls on ministers not to put ‘burdens on business’ and to bring the ‘tax base down’

The House of Commons today debated amendments to the finance bill, which the government touts as a vehicle for renewing annual taxes, delivering new tax proposals and maintaining administration of the tax system.

Speaking in the debate, Priti Patel said: “We have to make sure that – certainly on this side the House – is a Conservative government that is not putting burdens on businesses, but we are actually doing everything possible, as colleagues have discussed today, as well, to bring the tax base and tax burden down, but actually simplify taxes for businesses as well”.
