Policing minister reveals protestors’ foiled plan to ‘douse participants’ with paint at coronation

The policing minister Chris Philp was today called to the commons to answer an urgent question from the SNP MP Joanna Cherry on the arrest of protesters at the King’s coronation on Saturday.

Speaking in the urgent question, Conservative MP David Davis said: “Within one week of the public order bill entering the law and in its first serious use, we end up with the head of the Met having to apologise to people who are wrongfully arrested”.
