Net zero tsar Chris Skidmore intervenes on government ‘Green Day’

In the ministerial statement today to mark “Green Day”, Chris Skidmore, the Conservative Chair of the Independent Government Review on Net Zero, urged the government to step up its net zero action.

He said: “We need to now slay this myth that somehow net zero is going to make us colder and poorer and net zero will make us warmer and richer. And it is the economic opportunity of the decade. If not this century, to be able to create a new economy. Just as other countries, such as the United States have recognised”.
