MPs hold Westminster Hall debate on saving for later life
MPs have debated the issue of saving for later life in a Westminster Hall debate today. The debate was put forward by Labour MP Stephen Timms, who serves as the chair of the commons work and pensions committee.
Mr Timms said in the debate: “The problem is worst for people in their forties and up with no defined benefit pensions who haven’t had time to build up an auto-enrolment pension either. The crisis of under saving is going to crystallise when they retire, when it will be too late to do anything about it”.
