Lammy warns of new trade barriers with EU due to NI protocol

During foreign affairs questions, shadow secretary of state David Lammy questioned the “rhetoric” built by the Conservative party of the summer surrounding the Northern Ireland protocol.

Lammy warned that the protocol risked further trade barriers between the UK and the EU during a cost of living crisis.

Foreign minister Graham Stuart dismissed the critique, accusing the Labour Party of being on the “side of the EU” and “betraying” the British people.
