Sue Gray-gate: Minister questioned on the ‘reputational’ damage to the civil service

During cabinet office questions today, the Conservative MP Michael Fabricant asked the minister Jeremy Quin about concerns over the impartiality of the civil service in light of Sue Gray’s discussion with Sir Keir Starmer.

Mr Fabricant asked: “Impartiality must not only be done, it must also be seen to be done. What reputational damage does he think has happened since Sue Grey was in negotiations with the Leader of the Opposition?”.

The minister answered: “I can assure my honourable friend, that consideration of this issue does continue”.
