Sheerman accuses government of ‘con’ on house building

During housing and levelling up questions, Labour’s Barry Sheerman accused the government of “conning the British people” when it comes to building new houses.

Sheerman told MPs that greenfield sites must also be considered and that it should be more “imaginative” if it wants to build houses.

Housing minister Stuart Andrew “completely disagreed”, telling the House of Commons that the current plan would allow for 1 million houses to be built, something for which he makes no apology.
