Post Office CEO’s apology for scandal ‘means nothing’, says Kevan Jones

Labour MP Kevan Jones asked an Urgent Question, relating to the post office scandal.

The CEO of the Post Office, Nick Read has been forced to repay some of his bonus after the group was accused of “misleading” an inquiry into the scandal.

Read and other senior staff received part of their bonus for supporting an inquiry into the Post Office’s faulty Horizon computer system, which resulted in hundreds of postal workers being wrongly convicted for stealing money.

Jones said that Read’s apology ‘meant nothing’ and urged the minister to take further action.
