Labour MP raises comments by Jacob Rees-Mogg after he called voter ID laws ‘gerrymandering’

During the urgent question today on the implications of the National Crime Agency’s investigation into Mr Javad Marandi, a Conservative party donor, Labour MP Cat Smith questioned the government’s record on election integrity.

Ms Smith said: “A government MP [Jacob Rees-Mogg has] revealed that the voter ID laws were an attempt at gerrymandering. The public’s trust is precious, is easily lost, and it’s hard to gain”
