Kemi Badenoch defends adjustments to EU Retained Law Bill’s ambitions

During a sitting of the European Scrutiny Committee, the Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch heard questions about the EU Retained Law Bill that is currently passing through parliament.

The Committee’s chair, Bill Cash, asked why the Secretary of State had altered the priorities of the Bill. Badenoch defended her new approach and said it would be more effective in the long-run to simply alter some retained law rather than delete it altogether.
