Hands accuses Caroline Lucas of being ‘ungreen’

During business, energy and industrial strategy questions, minister Greg Hands avoided the chance to rule out fracking benefiting from what Green MP Caroline Lucas called a “perverse investment allowance”.

Lucas criticised the wider decision of the UK to provide investment allowance for oil and gas producers given the country already having the “lowest tax trade anywhere in the world for offshore oil and gas”.

Hands didn’t touch on fracking or the investment allowance instead mocking Lucas for her “ungreen approach” which would see the UK importing gas and oil rather than producing its own.
