The Lords today: Hospital beds shortage and the national security bill

The House of Lords sits from 2.30 p.m. with the introduction of two new peers, barrister Guglielmo Verdirame, as a crossbench peer, alongside the former deputy Labour leader, Tom Watson.

Following this, there will be questions on the hospital bed shortage, bringing the army in over Christmas and the health impact of plastic.

The main business will be the committee stage of the national security bill.
