During the questions posed to the Ministry for Justice in the Commons, representatives from the SNP asked Gareth Johnson whether he could say that the Rwanda policy was both lawful and ethical.

Johnson repeatedly said that the policy complied with all european human rights laws and that the government were “confident” that the decision was the right one.

Members of the SNP drew examples of the policy’s critiques, citing comments from the Refugee Action Gorup amongst others who have said they disapprove of the policy.
