Body found at home of MI6 worker

A man's body has been discovered by police in a flat in Pimlico belonging to an MI6 employee who had been missing from work for some time.
It is not known whether the body is that of the intelligence worker and police have been unable to identify the dead man, who was pronounced dead when police searched the flat having been alerted by colleagues of the resident.
According to media reports, the body was discovered in a sports hold-all, where it may have been for two weeks.
When police searched the flat, they discovered mobile phone paraphernalia including several SIM cards.
A spokesman for the Met said: "Detectives are investigating a suspicious death following the discovery of the body of a man in a central London flat. At around 1640 hours on Monday 23 August, officers attended the flat, on the top floor of a property in Alderney Street, Westminster, following reports that the occupant had not been seen for some time.
"Officers gained entry and found the body of the man, believed to be aged in his 30s. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are yet to identify the deceased."
The Pimlico flat is located close the MI6 headquarters in Vauxhall, and the circumstances of the death are currently under investigation amid intense speculation that the murdered man was indeed an intelligence officer.
A post-mortem examination will follow to establish the cause of death and identity of the body, and a murder inquiry has begun.
