Dehenna Davison was elected as the‌ Conservative ‌MP‌ ‌for Bishop Auckland in 2019, winning the seat off the Labour Party with a majority of 7,692.
The Bishop Auckland constituency covers the southern part of the county of Durham. It is a largely rural seat that contains the market towns of Bishop Auckland and Barnard Castle.. A former mining area, once represented in Parliament by the Labour Chancellor, Hugh Dalton, it was one of the seven Red Wall seats in the North East of England that the Conservative Party won in 2019.  Some 61% of the local electorate here supported Brexit in the 2016 EU referendum.

Davison was one of the first to announce her support for Liz Truss during the 2022 Conservative party leadership election.
Born‌ ‌in 1993, Davison read British Politics at the University of Hull. Elected at the age of 26, she is one of the youngest Conservative MPs.
Before being elected to Parliament, Dehenna Davison worked‌ in a variety of jobs including in a betting shop. She also worked in Westminster for a year as an aide to Jacob Rees-Mogg‌, and as a Research and Development Analyst at the Durham advisory firm Lumo.

Davison grew up on a council estate in Sheffield. She has talked publicly about how her father was killed by a single punch when she was 13.  As a teenager, she represented her family at the subsequent criminal injuries compensation tribunal.
In 2021, Davison became the first female Conservative MP to come out as bi sexual. In an interview on GB News, she said, “What’s the point hiding I’m bisexual, it’s nothing to be ashamed of”.
Davison was reported to have been involved with other Conservative MPs elected in 2019 in the so called ‘pork pie’ plot, following concerns about Boris Johnson’s leadership post the ‘partygate’ affair.
Davison is Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Sport, and Vice Chair of the All Party Group for Video Games and E-sports. She is also a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Baseball and Softball.
