Shadow Foreign Minister: ‘Labour would go broader, faster, stronger on sanctions’

The Shadow foreign minister, David Lammy, utilised the opposition day debate to encourage the government to implement a “full set of sanctions” to support Ukraine.

Lammy highlighted the urgency to take on ‘Putinism’ as China are “watching to see how the West responds”.

The Labour MP also referred to the government seemingly “watering down” democracy at home with reference to delays on the economic crime bill, stating its necessity for the UK to be “taken seriously on the world stage”.
