Rishi Sunak: Keir Starmer’s past support for Jeremy Corbyn undermines Labour’s position on Nato

Prime minister Rishi Sunak today made a statement to the House of Commons on the Nato summit in Vilnius which he return to the UK from yesterday.

In response to the statement, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer’s repeated his party’s commitment to the military alliance.

Mr Sunak retorted that: “The reality is this for long years the honourable gentleman did sit there next to someone who didn’t support Nato who wanted to scrap Trident and abolish our armed forces. That’s what the record is”.
