Queens’s Speech: Patel and Cooper clash on crime bills

Home secretary Priti Patel told the House of Commons in today’s debate on crime bills that the Conservative party is the party of “law and order”. 

Labour’s shadow secretary Yvette Cooper offered her perspective that UK victims are complaining that “there is no action when things go wrong”.

Cooper told the home secretary that she needs to start “running faster because they’re (the criminals) getting away”.
