Post Office apologies ‘not enough’

In an urgent question regarding the treatment of the 555 sub postmasters group following the Post Office Horizon scandal, BEIS minister Paul Scully told the House that apologies were “not enough” and that the chancellor is “making funds available” to ensure that those in the group would not be disadvantaged.

There was widespread support for Scully’s work in this area with SNP MP Marion Fellows offering the backhanded compliment to the House that the responses proves that “the government does the right thing in the end, once they have done everything else”.

Scully committed that the government “will push as much as it can” to tackle the issue and bring compensation.
