MPs unite in condemnation of name changes by registered sex offenders

The House of Commons today debated a backbench motion put forward by Labour MP Sarah Champion on the changes of name by registered sex offenders.

Shadow minister for domestic violence and safeguarding Jess Philips said in the debate: “The level of re-offending in these groups that we are here talking about today – we should be under no illusion that currently safeguarding. I have to say, is not being achieved”.
