Monaghan calls for lift of ‘ban’ on asylum seekers working
In a ten minute rule motion, SNP’s Carol Monaghan put forward a bill which will help ensure asylum seekers can more easily get into work.
Monaghan revealed that current legislation “preventing people from working” has caused the Treasury to “waste nearly £1 billion”.
The SNP MP referred to the “81% public support” and “open mindedness” from deputy PM Dominic Raab as further reasons to peruse the bill.
