Keir Starmer: ‘Medicines, food and water must get into Gaza to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe’

At Prime Minister’s Questions today, leader of the Labour Party Keir Starmer said that “medicines, food, fuel and water must get into Gaza” to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe.

Prime minister Rishi Sunak responded: “As I said on Monday, the humanitarian crisis is unfolding to which we must respond”.

He added: “It is right that we support the Palestinian people because they are victims of Hamas, too. And that is why we have provided a further £10 million in humanitarian aid for people in the region”.
