Government urged by MPs on both sides of the House to act faster over the inflected blood scandal

The House of Commons today heard a backbench business debate on the inflected blood scandal.

Speaking in the debate, SNP MP Philippa Whitford said: “I would love to think that this could be the last debate needed to achieve justice for victims of contaminated blood. But sadly, I fear that won’t be the case. With an average of two victims a week losing their lives since that debate in 2017. The government must surely accept. Time is of the essence for these people”.
