Docherty-Hughes demands answers on Johal Indian court case

In an urgent question, Martin Docherty-Hughes demanded answers on “who knew what and when” regarding the Indian court case of his constituent Jagtar Singh Johal.

This comes after suggestions that the arrest of Johal came after “information” provided by British intelligence services.

Foreign minister Rehman Chrishti stressed that providing consular assistance is a “priority” for the Foreign Office, however, that he did not want to comment so as to let the legal process “take its course”.
