Davie: ‘BBC challenges are extreme’

Tim Davie has warned that the BBC faces an “extreme scale of change” to stay relevant in the coming years.

The director-general of the BBC made the comments during the communication and digital committee’s session on the future funding of the BBC.

Asked by committee chair, Baroness Stowell of Beeston, what the future role of the BBC was, Davie said: “As we analyse the situation, the scale of change in the market is extreme… the stakes are extremely high for something we all care about.”
