Sunak makes light of defeat in PM race

Following his defeat in the race to replace Boris Johnson as prime minister, former chancellor Rishi Sunak made a contribution to the the Westminster Hall debate on the funding unavoidably small hospitals in the UK.

Sunak made light of defeat to Liz Truss, telling MPs that it turned out that there was “more time on my hands than anticipated”.

Sunak went on to say that he was happy to be present at a debate on this “very important topic”.
