Heart scans for Tories

The Conservatives’ Shadow Health team are all to undergo heart scans.

But this is not an indication of health problems, rather an attempt to raise the profile of coronary heart disease ahead of a parliamentary debate on Thursday.

The Conservatives want to open up access to screening for major heart diseases such as CHD.

Those taking part include Shadow Health Secretary Andrew Lansley, Shadow Health Ministers Tim Loughton and Andrew Murrison as well as backbenchers Crispin Blunt and John Maples.
