Three Israelis killed in central Gaza

Three Israelis, two of whom were women, were killed yesterday in a Jewish settlement in central Gaza.

A 22-year old Hamas gunman, Samir Fouda, flanked by a fellow traveller from Islamic Jihad, reportedly threw grenades, then opened fire, killing the three Israelis and wounding two others.

Hamas said the act was part of an “heroic operation.”

Israeli police said the militant entered the Netzarim settlement covertly and then opened fire.

He was later chased and killed by Israeli soldiers.

Separately, in central Gaza, an 11-year-old Palestinian boy was killed by Israeli soldiers, according to witnesses. Israel has denied the claim.

Hamas leader, Nizar Rian, told a cheering crowd in the Jabaliya refugee camp on Friday: “Our blood is not cheap and our operations will go on until we return all of Palestine.”
