Police seize one million ecstasy tablets

Police have seized about one million tablets ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of more than five million pounds in a raid in Shepperton, Surrey.

Three people have been arrested in the raid on the suspected drugs plant.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve Rodhouse said the “significant seizure” of the dangerous drug would save lives.

60-year old Brian Braker of Chertsey, Surrey, and Keith Hill, 29, of Liverpool, will appear at Staines Magistrates’ Court.

A third man was released on police bail.

Separately, the drug dealer whose ecstasy pills killed 10-year-old Jade Slack faces a “substantial” prison sentence today.

Wayne Wood, 22, of Galgate, near Lancaster, Lancashire, was cleared of Jade’s manslaughter but pleaded guilty to pedalling the class A drug for months leading up to her death.

He is to be sentenced at Manchester Crown Court.
