The Lords today: Procurement bill and voter ID

The House of Lords sits from 2.30 p.m. with former unison general secretary David Prentis taking his seat.

There will then be oral questions on renewable energy generation, the closure of train ticket offices, school meal funding and Albanian asylum seeker decision waiting times.

Then the main business is the third readings of the procurement bill and higher education (freedom of speech) bill.

The Lords will also debate motions on plans to bring in voter ID before a statement on strike preparations.
