Russian invasion of Ukraine is ‘very, very, highly likely’, says minister

Speaking to Sky News’ “Trevor Phillips on Sunday”, Europe minister James Cleverly said Russia still has a “huge unprecedented number of troops” on the Ukrainian border.

He went on to say: “An attack, an invasion, seems far more likely than unlikely but we will continue to work to try and avert that.”

He also said an attack is “very, very, highly likely” and “very, very imminent”.

But he added Prime Minister Boris Johnson has “made it clear” that the UK is still looking for a diplomatic solution with Russia.

“Every day that we can prevent this conflict is a good day at work,” Mr Cleverly added.
