Matt Hancock lands new UN post
Matt Hancock has landed a new role advising African countries on how to recover economically from Covid.
The former health secretary has been appointed as the Special Representative of Financial Innovation and Climate Change for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
The former health secretary, who has been out of the public eye since his resignation in June, will be unpaid in the new role.
Hancock said: “As we recover from the pandemic, so we must take this moment to ensure Africa can prosper”.
“It is critical that we seize this moment to ensure Africa can both strengthen its economic recovery and the sustainability of its development”, he added.
Honoured to be appointed United Nations Special Representative.

According to the UN, African countries face paying $425 billion to recover from the pandemic.
