Sunak ‘swerves scrutiny’ and ‘focuses on keeping Johnson sycophants happy’, says Labour

In her response to the business statement today, shadow leader of the House of Commons Thangam Debbonaire warned Rishi Sunak was “focus[sing] on keeping Boris Johnson’s sycophants in his own party happy”.

She said: “While the current prime minister focuses on keeping Boris Johnson’s sycophants in his own party happy, introduces new laws which, by his own government’s own admission won’t work and now seem to have been found illegal, and he swerves scrutiny. People up and down the country are left facing the cost of Tory mortgage penalties”.
