Streeting leads opposition day debate on expanding the NHS workforce

The House of Commons today debated expanding the NHS workforce in an opposition day motion.

Shadow secretary of state for health and social care Wes Streeting said: “If we had the longest waiting times in the history of the NHS because of the pandemic, why were NHS waiting lists at their longest historic level before the pandemic? Why were there 100,000 staff shortages before the pandemic? Why were there 112,000 vacancies in social care before the pandemic?”.
