SNP MPs double up on government regarding LGBTQ+ rights in Rwanda

During foreign affairs questions, SNP MPs Deidre Brock and Patrick Grady doubled up on under-secretary Vicky Ford, voicing their concerns for the safety of LGBTQ+ refugees sent to Rwanda.

Brock warned that the LGBTQ+ community can receive “abuse” from the local authorities and Grady told the House of Commons of gay people that had been killed for “not representing Rwandan values”.

Ford reassured the House that the Rwandan constitution “prohibits all forms of discrimination”. However, she admitted that “LGBT individuals may still encounter discrimination”
