New bill would see owners of dogs who kill other dogs prosecuted

The Conservative MP Anna Firth today proposed a 10 minute rule bill which, if passed, would penalise owners of dogs who attack other dogs.

Speaking in the debate, Ms Firth said: “This bill is about encouraging responsible dog ownership and animal welfare, placing the responsibility for a fatal dog attack fairly and squarely on the person in charge of the dog and empowering the police to take action”.
