Nandy accuses government of ‘contempt’ rather than levelling up

Shadow levelling up secretary Lisa Nandy blasted the government during levelling up questions, for being unable to persuade levelling up civil servants to move out of London.

Nandy told under-secretary Neil O’Brien “at least he knows what it’s like to be treated with contempt by Whitehall”.

O’Brien ignored the criticism, telling the House of Commons about how the national living wage is “putting £1,000 extra in the pockets of working people”.
