Michael Fabricant on Britain’s canals and waterways

In a Westminster Hall debate on Tuesday morning, Michael Fabricant spoke on the issue of Britain’s canals and waterways.

The Conservative MP said: “Our canal system is not just for narrow boaters. It’s for those who enjoy the tranquillity of walking along Canal Towpath and watching the wildlife that thrives that I’m most grateful to have been granted this important debate on the future of the United Kingdom’s canals and waterways. The need to secure their future is a matter I’m afraid of increasing urgency”.
