Lord Kamall says balance must be struck between data-sharing and commercialisation

The science and technology committee have grilled ministers over digital data and the right to privacy.

Quizzed tech minister Lord Kamall over data-sharing with private companies. He argued that a balance needed to be struck between the commercialisation of data and cooperation with external entities for the benefit of the NHS and patients.

Media minister Julia Lopez also discussed data privacy more generally, stating that pseudonymisation was just one method being used to protect the data of individuals.
