Government not keen on involving a third party to reach junior doctors pay settlement

During a Public Accounts Committee meeting, a panel of witnesses from the NHS and various health trusts sat to discuss the impact of strike action, as well as mental health services.

Asked whether a third party would be introduced in order to help reach an agreement, Sir Chris Wormald, Permanent Secretary, Department of Health and Social Care, reminded the panel that it was not ‘the government’s preferred way of doing things’.
