Dowden pushes government stance on Covid Inquiry debate

Prime Minister’s Questions was between the two deputies this week as the Prime Minister and Keir Starmer had commitments elsewhere. This is Oliver Dowden’s second time against Angela Rayner in his new role as Deputy Prime Minister.

The focus remained on the Covid Inquiry, who the government are taking to court over a dispute about what should and should not be shared as ‘relevant’ information. He stressed that the government remain steady in their approach and are doing so in order to protect the privacy of those concerned.
