David Lammy accuses ministers of decade of ‘division, inconsistency and complacency’ on China

In Foreign Office questions today, Labour spokesperson David Lammy said the government’s strategy on China was beset by “division, inconsistency and complacency”.

He said: “Last week’s intelligence and security committee report exposed the consequences of more than a decades of conservative division inconsistent, unseeing complacency towards China and treachery”.

Foreign Office minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan responded that the prime minister’s position on China is “strong and robust”.
