Baroness Hayman pushes the government for further details on its energy strategy

In a private notice question, crossbencher Baroness Hayman pushed the government for more details on its energy strategy than a “four page press release”.

Hayman told the House of Lords that “it is deeply disappointing” that policy focus is expensive and long term rather than finding immediate solutions for consumers and the environment.

The government’s under-secretary Lord Callahan described the plan as a “comprehensive package of measures” and stressed the importance of having “full recognition of the concern of many local constituents”.
