BASC Ladies’ Star of Shooting awards 2021 open for nominations

BASC is pleased to announce that nominations to the annual BASC Ladies’ Star of Shooting awards have now opened.

In recognition of outstanding contributions and support to ladies’ shooting the awards enter their fifth successful year. After the outstanding success of last year’s awards we will have the same three categories this year:
Target Shooting Star – including clay shooting, air rifle shooting, coaching and all the surrounding support.

  • Field to Fork Star – those creative and resourceful game cooks and caterers.
  • Game and Gamekeeping Star – not just for game shooters but also those who contribute to the planning and enjoyment of the day.

Nominations can be made on the BASC website.

Kathleen O’Connor, BASC Ladies’ Shooting coordinator, said: “The awards are there to celebrate and recognise those who continue to make a positive contribution to our sport. If you know anyone who deserves a nomination, please tell us about them.

“The awards continue to go from strength to strength, creating three categories in 2020 gave us the most nominations that we have had so far.”

Last year’s awards were won by eleven-year-old Ellen Winters, in the Target Shooting category, under-keeper Amy Moore won the Game and Gamekeeping category and farmer’s wife Sue Critchley won the Field to Fork category.

This year’s awards are once again sponsored by The Sporting Lodge.
