Pets vs election leaflets: There can only be one winner

It's the first day of the general election campaign – and already we can't take any more.

How things have changed since the good old days when voters – particularly those in marginal constituencies – weren't finding their letterboxes bombarded with political literature.

Now the electioneering is very much underway. And candidates are resorting to new and even odder ways of winning votes than ever before.

The problem is, not everyone is very happy about the avalanche of electioneering pamphlets they're facing over the coming weeks.

What could possibly be causing this shameless vandalism?

Well, this is just horrific.

Conclusion: All election material should be swiftly removed from the doormat and placed in a special folder for future reference.
