The Conservative government are due to announce that they will no longer use the term ‘BAME’.
This comes following the racial disparity commission’s expected findings that the word is “unhelpful and redundant”.
Sunder Katwala, director of British Future, has praised the decision but said it is important “to move beyond the debate about terminology”.
