Report links poor air quality to 64,000 deaths a year

A report by the Environment, Food and Rural affairs parliamentary committee has linked poor air quality to 64,000 deaths a year in the UK.

The committee says the government has “ignored calls” to address health inequalities exacerbated by air pollution.

The chairman of the committee, Neil Parish, called on the government to release their targets, saying “let’s see the colour of your money, let’s see what you’re going to do”.
