Jacob Young is the Conservative MP for Redcar, having won the seat for the Conservatives with a majority of 3,527. He is the first Conservative to represent Redcar since the constituency was created. He stood in the same seat in 2015 for the Conservatives and came fourth.
Born on the 2nd of February 1993, Jacob was educated at Teesside University, studying chemical engineering. Jacob trained as an apprentice technician and worked in petrochemicals company before being elected to Parliament. He is previously a council on Middlesborough Council.
Young is openly gay. He supported Brexit in the 2016 referendum on the European Union.
